Graphite for Foundry & Metallurgy

Cleaner castings and reliable carbon adjustment for metal producers.

All Applications

In foundries, graphite powder is used as a mould facing and coating: as molten metal contacts the layer it vaporises, forming a gaseous cushion that releases the casting cleanly and improves surface finish. Graphite is also used as a recarburiser to adjust carbon content in steel and iron melts.

Why Graphite

  • Clean release and smoother casting surface finish
  • Stable behaviour at metal-pouring temperatures
  • Recarburiser grades for controlled carbon pick-up
  • Controlled particle size for consistent application

Typical Grades

Fine and micronised grades for facings/coatings; sized grades for recarburising — matched to your process.

Specifications are indicative and matched to your requirements. See our grade families.
